WHY DO WE TITHE?

We tithe to support the church and express trust in God. Tithing is an act based in scripture. Malachi 3:10 quotes the Lord saying, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test Me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." We choose to be obedient to this command and live under the blessing of Christ in our lives. Tithing is an act done cheerfully and willingly as an offering of the first fruits of our labor and an expression of surrender to God.

 

2 Corinthians 9:6 "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

 

WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?

The primary objective of giving is to help others build a relationship in Jesus Christ- both locally and globally! Faith Community Church funds go to supporting our local church, the Central California District for work in California’s Central Valley, and the General Church of the Nazarene to jointly support over 700 missionaries in 162 area worldwide!

 

Our local church efforts support organizations within the Clovis/Fresno area including the a food pantry, partnering with local schools, health fairs, community projects, benevolence and emergency relief needs, and many other local efforts. Our church also is able to support our local pastoral staff, faculty, and property to provide a welcome and inviting space for our community throughout the week.
