Do to Others - Pastor David

This Sunday our English ministry will continue with Jesus’ sermon on the plain in Luke’s gospel. In this passage Jesus calls his followers to a radical way of living and treating others as part of His Kingdom (v 27-31). Then in the next set of verses Jesus talks about the why. So that we stand out to others, so that we might not just declare the Kingdom, but also reveal the Kingdom by our living. So that the world might know that God is real and that he is loving, merciful, and "kind to the ungrateful and wicked." Our great reward (v35b) is not just personal or someday in heaven, but for now that we will be counted as children of God not just in God's eyes, but by the world.
Let’s gather this week in anticipation and ready to encounter Jesus and take his words seriously. May it be our hearts desire to reveal God to others in word and deed; this is our purpose to bring glory to God.
