Astounded at the Greatness - Pastor David

This Sunday is Transfiguration Sunday, the final Sunday of the season of Epiphany. The transfiguration of Jesus is recorded in all three Synoptic Gospels. Our English ministry will be considering Luke’s account. As part of the story, Peter suggests that they set up tents or tabernacles for Moses, Elijah, and Jesus. Luke provides commentary that Peter didn’t know what he was saying. Peter’s comment is understandable—the glory of God had descended upon the tabernacle and temple in the past. What he and the other disciples don’t yet comprehend is God’s plan to dwell in us, that we might be transformed into the image of our Lord with ever increasing glory by God’s Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18). Join us Sunday morning as we contemplate the glory and preeminence of Christ Jesus and receive the invitation to holiness, that we might be like Jesus.
